Switch device (30), adapted for use in a terminal comprising a first terminal member and a second terminal member pivotably connected to the first terminal member, said switch device comprising a switch (31,37) which can be set to an open or closed state, and a displaceable switch activator member (32) devised to set said switch by engagement with a cooperating member (36), wherein said switch activator member and said cooperating member are conductive, such that an electrical connection between them is accomplished upon activation of said switch activator member. The switch device provides, in an integrated unit, both a switch for detection of open or closed state of the terminal, and a connector for establishing electrical contact between the two terminal members. <IMAGE>
