PURPOSE: A flange type ball valve and a manufacturing method thereof is provided to join a main body of a valve body to a cover by welding without damage of a valve seat caused by a welding heat. CONSTITUTION: A flange type ball valve comprises a valve body(10) having flanges at both ends and a ball receiving space(16) at a flow passage hole(15); a ball(20) which has the flow passage hole and is received in the ball receiving space; a ring type valve seat(30) closely supporting both ends of the ball; and a valve stem(40) for rotating the ball. The valve body is composed of a main body(11) and a cover(12) having flanges at each end. The main body is joined to the cover by welding.
