REFRIGERATOR HAVING NEGATIVE ION GENERATOR

PURPOSE: A refrigerator having a negative ion generator is provided to reduce power consumption of a refrigerator by operating a negative ion generator for a predetermined time only when a refrigerator compartment is opened. CONSTITUTION: A negative ion generator(20) is installed inside a refrigerator compartment. A door switch(30) is installed between a front end of a main body of the refrigerator compartment and a refrigerator compartment door so that the door switch is turned on and off by opening and shutting of the refrigerator compartment door. When the refrigerator compartment door is opened, the door switch is turned on. A controller(40) for the negative ion generator is connected with the door switch to drive the negative ion generator when the door switch is turned on. The controller counts a predetermined time so that the controller stops the negative ion generator if the counted time passes.
