PURPOSE: An external electrode fluorescent lamp and a method of fabricating the fluorescent lamp are provided to prevent inclination of electric field in the lamp to improve reliability of the lamp. CONSTITUTION: An external electrode fluorescent lamp includes a plurality of fluorescent lamps(31) and external electrodes(32). Both ends of each fluorescent lamp are symmetrical and rounded, and a fluorescent material is coated on the inner wall of each fluorescent lamp to emit light. The external electrodes are respectively formed at both ends of each fluorescent lamp. The external electrode fluorescent lamp further includes beads(33), which are respectively inserted into both ends of each fluorescent lamp. The beads have a cylindrical, bar or ball shape.
