PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fluorine-containing ether in a high yield by the addition reaction of fluorine with an unsaturated compound. SOLUTION: The fluorine-containing ether is produced by reacting an unsaturated ether compound with a fluorine gas in the presence of a porous metal fluoride. The porous metal fluoride is exemplified by aluminum fluoride, calcium fluoride, magnesium fluoride, or chromium fluoride. It is desirable to use porous aluminum fluoride. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
