PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction platen in which contamination of a medium with fluid particles is reduced. SOLUTION: The suction platen assembly (100) for a fluid ejector comprises a platen (101) having a plurality of suction holes (102) and one or a plurality of recesses (114A, B) for collecting aerosol, and a plurality of ridges (104A-104M) extending from the platen wherein the position of the medium (106) relative to the ridges is sustained by suction through the plurality of suction holes.
