PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the earthquake-resisting performance for abutment or pier. SOLUTION: Laminated rubber layers 196 are installed on a bridge pier 194, and a bridge girder 192 is erected on the laminated rubber layers 196. A load borne by a bridge girder 192 is transmitted to the bridge pier 194 as an axial force through the laminated rubber layers 196.
