PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas damper driving type lid opening and closing device capable of properly setting driving force and buffer force when opening and closing a lid even if difference exists in weight of lid and unevenness exists in shape dimension and gas reaction force of a gas damper. SOLUTION: A mounting end part 8 of an operation rod 7 of the gas damper 6 is pivoted on a tip side bracket 4 fixed to the lid 2, and a mounting end part 13 of a cylinder 12 of the gas damper 6 is pivoted on a terminal side bracket 10 fixed to a fixed frame body 1. A bracket main body 4a of the tip side bracket 4 advances and retracts in the direction of length of a fixed base 4c by rotation operation of a screw shaft bar 4e, and a bracket main body 10a of the terminal side bracket 10 advances and retracts in the direction of length of a fixed base 10c by rotation operation of a screw shaft bar 10e to increase, reduce, and adjust initial gas reaction force of the gas damper 6.
