PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide rolls having advantages of both of a metal roll and a resin roll, eliminating disadvantage of each of the rolls, and a feeding device for a platelike material using these rolls. SOLUTION: The roll 50 consists of a roll body 53 of metal as a core material having an outer skin 52 made of resin (for example, made of urethane), and a coated layer 54 (for example, metallic belt made of a stainless steel) made of metal covering the surface of the outer skin 52 of the roll body 53. The roll 50 is used as feed rolls 23a, 23b of leveler feeders 20 (feeding device) for example. An accurate feed operation with high-precision is possible without generating flaws or the like on a belt-like material 2 (platelike material) thereby. The feed rolls 23a, 23b achieve miniaturization, weight-reduction, and improvement in durability or the like. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
