<p>A resonance element array (200) is disposed between a primary radiator (1) and a lens (3). The resonance element array (200) comprises resonance elements each consisting of a linear conductor and variable reactance circuits arranged on a dielectric substrate. When a control section (4) applies a control voltage to a specified variable reactance circuit, a specified resonance element is excited with an electromagnetic wave from a primary radiator and the orientation of an optical path being collimated by means of the lens (3) is varied electronically. Consequently, high speed beam scanning is realized while reducing power consumption required for beam scanning and eliminating operational sound incident to beam scanning, and reliability can be enhanced furthermore, thus obtaining resulting in an antenna where a beam can be oriented in an arbitrary direction at a required moment in time. Furthermore, radiation pattern of the beam can be altered as required.</p> |
