<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively prevent a preparation error in medicine picking work and inspection work by very easily and positively recognizing the name of medicine printed on a package or container of the medicine. <P>SOLUTION: This medicine recognition device is provided with an image reader 1 capable of reading a printed information part printed on the surface of the package of the medicine packaged in a press-through-package (PTP) sheet, or the like, and an image recognition processor 2 for recognizing the name of the packaged medicine based on the image read by the image reader 1. The image recognition processor 2 is provided with a reference image storage means for storing beforehand a plurality of reference images for recognizing the name of the packaged medicine, and a recognition means for collating medicine name image parts for specifying the names of the medicine respectively included in the read image read by the image reader 1 and the reference image stored in the reference image storage means, and recognizing the name of the medicine based on the collated result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
