PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a call receiving method and apparatus which can make compatible the shortening of the waiting time of a customer and the high operator availability for the varying traffic at a call center. SOLUTION: ID numbers are previously assigned to the numbers of calls receivable at an off-peak periods, and an caller, having a wait call, is notified in voice of the ID number and the expected time of reception and is then disconnected, to guide to call at an off-peak period.
