PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stop starter of an engine capable of stopping and restarting the engine by predetermined conditions, corresponding to driver's habit and liking, and applying a controller by a wide scope of type, form, and year of a vehicle even if a detection sensor and a detection SW attached depending on vehicle type differ. SOLUTION: A plurality of operation modes for stopping the engine in an N range and a D range are provided to operate the controller by distinguishing the presence or absence of the detection sensor and the detection SW and select the operation mode in accordance with driver's liking.
