PURPOSE: A method for controlling compressors of a heat pump system applying a plurality of compressors is provided to reduce power consumption required for additionally operating compressors, thereby improving the efficiency of a heat pump system. CONSTITUTION: A heating operation is executed by operating a plurality of compressors(11,12) are operated at the same time. If a heating load is reduced in the middle of operating the plurality of compressors, some compressors are stopped while others are selectively operated. An indoor temperature is measured. It is judged whether the indoor temperature enters a temperature range having a certain set value. If the indoor temperature enters the temperature range, the stopped compressors maintain the stop state. If not, the plurality of compressors are operated at the same time to resolve the heating load.
