PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) projection TV and a control method thereof are provided to display progress situation while a lamp is turned on after a power-on signal is inputted. CONSTITUTION: A user interface(150) inputs a request command of a user. A digital signal processing unit(130) processes an inputted image signal as a signal capable of being displayed. The first display unit(190) displays the image signal processed in the digital signal processing unit(130). A lamp driving unit(170) drives a lamp. A memory(180) stores a delay time until the lamp is driven. The second display unit(200) displays lamp driving process situation. If a power-on command is inputted through the user interface(150) by the user, a control unit(160) outputs a control signal to the lamp driving unit(170) so that the lamp is driven. The control unit(160) outputs a control signal to the second display unit(200) for accurately displaying the lamp driving progress situation on the second display unit(200) with reference to a booting delay time previously stored in the memory(180).
