<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium which is excellent in ink absorbency and has good printing density, resistance to blur with time and good lightfastness. <P>SOLUTION: The ink jet recording medium is constituted of a porous ink receiving layer containing at least minute polymer particles provided on a substratum. The medium has a pore volume (A/B) per unit thickness of the ink layer of 2.0×10<SP>-5</SP>ml/cm<SP>2</SP>/μm or larger, wherein the pore volume is obtained by dividing the pore volume A (×10<SP>-5</SP>ml/cm<SP>2</SP>) of the ink receiving layer which has the same pore diameter as the diameter of the polymer particle calculated from a pore distribution curve by means of the nitrogen gas adsorption method by the dry film thickness B (μm) of the ink receiving layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
