PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner which improves a dust collecting performance by preventing a sudden decrease in suction power and realizes a reduction in the size. SOLUTION: The electric vacuum cleaner is equipped with a first dust separating part 6 with an inlet 9 permitting suction air containing dust to flow in, a second dust separating part 7 with an inlet 10 permitting the suction air flowing in the part 6 to flow inside and equipped with a filter, and a communicating opening 12 making the part 7 communicate with an electric fan for generating the suction air, equipped with a filter, and located on the downstream side for the suction air of the part 7. The fineness of the filter provided on the communicating opening 12 is made equal to or smaller than that of the filter provided on the inlet 10 formed on the part 7. Thus, the electric vacuum cleaner prevents a penetration of the fine dust into the electric fan and ensures the suction of the dust into the part 7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
