PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent destruction of wiring due to static electricity caused by rubbing and to prevent a C2 orientation by preventing local rough rubbing at a rubbing mask edge (1), to prolong the service life of a rubbing cloth (2), and to reduce the production cost of the rubbing mask (3) in the rubbing mask for alignment control of a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The rubbing mask is constructed with six pieces of SUS tapes of 10 mm width and 50μm thickness and a peripheral frame wherein only vertical frame areas and terminal parts are coated with the SUS tapes. The SUS tapes with 50μm thickness are fixed to the peripheral frame with a room temperature setting adhesive. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
