PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper conveying device capable of forming images with high printing quality by moving recording sheets to an accurate position without applying a large load on piercing holes in which spikes are passed in the paper conveying device used for image forming apparatuses such as a thermal printer and conveying the recording sheets. SOLUTION: The recording sheets printed by a thermal head are fed by a pair of conveying rollers 58 and color ink is transferred thereto. The pair of conveying rollers 58 comprises a drive roller 58a and a driven roller 58b. The drive roller 58a comprises spike formation parts 98a and 98b, and spikes 97 are uniformly formed on the spike formation parts 98a and 98b. Urethane coating 99 is applied to the root of the spikes 97. The conveyance of the recording sheets is supported by the urethane coating 99 to lower a load on the piercing holes in the spikes 97 so as to accurately move the recording sheets by a specified length.
