PURPOSE: A computer system and a controlling method thereof are provided to play only a desired audio signal when a plurality of audio signals is generated. CONSTITUTION: A sound card(14) and a speaker(16) are an audio playback part that is the hardware for performing an audio function. A sound card driver(12) is the software for operating the hardware. A plurality of sound related programs(10) generates the audio signal. An audio selection program(18) selectively provides only one audio signal from the audio signals generated from the sound related programs to the sound card.
