PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal cylindrical sand mill which can improve mill capability. SOLUTION: The horizontal cylindrical sand mill is equipped with a drum 1 which is closed at one end of a horizontal cylindrical or nearly cylindrical drum body 1a rotated around an axis by an end wall 1b having a supply port 2 and at the other end by an end wall 1c having an outlet 3, respectively and is internally compartmentalized in two chambers continuous with a longitudinal direction by a partition 1d having a through-hole. The chamber on the supply port side is constructed as a crushing chamber 7 into which rods 6 or large-diameter balls are charged and the chamber on the outlet side is constructed as a crushing/grain shape regulating chamber 11 into which the small-diameter balls 10 are charged. Also, the ratio of the internal diameter of the crushing/grain shape regulating chamber to the internal diameter of the crushing chamber is specified to >1.0 to 1.5. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
