<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the function of a roller clutch satisfactorily over a long period by causing less plastic deformation by bent parts 18 and 18 forming a spring 4. <P>SOLUTION: Inclination parts 19 and 19 are provided at the portions of the side faces of a pair of rear supporting plate parts 12b and 12b forming a holder 5b facing both end parts of a base part 16 forming the spring 4. Thus, when the roller clutch is over-run and pressing pieces 17 and 17 forming the spring 4 are pressed by a roller 3 and deflected, the center part of the base part 16 is largely bent in the pressing direction. Accordingly, since the bent amounts of the bent parts 18 and 18 are reduced, bending stresses applied to the bent parts 18 and 18 can be reduced.
