<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition and a method for stimulation or inhibition of angiogenesis and/or cardiovascular plasty in mammals including human beings. <P>SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical composition based on polypeptides or antagonists thereof identified in terms of one or a plurality of these usages is provided. Diseases which are diagnosed, prevented or treated with the composition comprises injury such as wound, various cancers, and vascular diseases including atherosclerosis and cardiac hypertrophy. In addition, this invention provides novel polypeptides and a nucleic acid molecule encoding these polypeptides. Moreover, a vector and host cell including these nucleic acid sequences, a chimeric polypeptide molecule including these polypeptides fused with a different kind of polypeptide, an antibody binding to these polypeptides, and a method for producing these polypeptides are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
