<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OS with a arrangement of each of a printer driver, a spooler and a printing processor modified. <P>SOLUTION: A PPD is used for each function of a printer that can be specified by a PPD. Remaining functions are classified as custom actions processed by a customized print processor, which is connected to a spooler, in place of a default print processor of the OS. Preferably, however, the customized print processor will not execute functions of a traditional print processor. Instead, after performing custom actions, each subroutine of the customized print processor calls out the subroutines of the default print processor of the OS, to perform conventional print processing. This arrangement can save the trouble of duplicating each function of the print processor and the like, maintained by the OS and also can avoid the trouble of substitution of functions of the print processor customized by a vendor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
