PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner having stable electrostatic charge properties, causing neither fogging nor defective transfer, and excellent in transfer efficiency. SOLUTION: In the toner used in an image forming apparatus in which a toner image obtained by developing an electrostatic latent image formed on a photoreceptor is transferred onto a recording medium and fixed, toner particles containing a urethane resin as a binder resin and an electrostatic charge controlling agent are thermally shaped. As a result, since the toner has stable electrostatic charge properties even when used in a color image forming apparatus with an intermediate transfer medium, occurrence of a reversely charged toner, fog, etc., is prevented and an image of excellent quality can be formed.
