PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hemodialyzer and a control method therefor which facilitate the setting of the conditions for the hemodialysis treatment hourly adapted to the patients, especially the control of the water removing velocity while monitoring the condition of the blood of the individual patients. SOLUTION: The control of the working means is consisted of the first half stage of the control in which the blood index values are reduced being held within a specified range and the second half stage of the control in which the blood index values are held within a fixed range. It is made possible to set the first, second and fourth alarm lines for prescribing the predetermined range in the first half stage and in the second half stage, the first and second alarm lines for prescribing the fixed range are set. The setting of the third and fourth alarm lines are made possible to accomplish the controls differing from those mentioned above. The individual alarm lines in the second half stage can be set independent of the plurality of alarm lines in the first half stage. Between the first and second half stages, it is also made possible to set the respective maximum water removing velocities independent of each other. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
