PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a straight sliding solenoid valve capable of avoiding torque of rotation of a plunger applied to a valve element so as to prevent the generation of uneven abrasion or valve leak. SOLUTION: The valve element 3 is engaged with a circular valve element holding shaft part 30 of a plunger 5 by a groove part 3C having a roughly semi-circular cross sectional surface formed on the back surface side of the valve element 3 to be rotatable around a center axial line while it is restrained from moving in an axis direction.
