A method for regulating the fuel-air ratio, lambda, of a gas combustion engine, especially a spark-ignition gas combustion engine, where a desired value (lambda s oll) for the fuel-air ratio is determined dependent on the actual operating state of the gas combustion engine (lambda i st). The actual operating value or fuel-air ratio is determined directly from the air mass flow to the engine (m.i). An Independent claim is made for a device for regulating the fuel-air ratio of a gas combustion engine, which has a hot film anemometer for determining the air mass flow rate.
