PURPOSE: Provided is a chair pivoting device for a retractable seat to automatically stand or lay chairs arranged in a line in each tier for a retractable seat by a simple operation. CONSTITUTION: The chair pivoting device for a retractable seat comprises a connection stand(11) to couple a plurality of chairs arranged in a line as a body by connecting the lower parts of the chairs; a rotation axis(21) to be placed between the bottom of a tier of a retractable seat and the connection stand(11) to be parallel to the connection stand(11); a power transmission portion(51) to be interposed between the rotation axis(21) and the connection stand(11) and to transmit a turning force of the rotation axis(21) to the connection stand(11) to turn and move a plurality of chairs arranged in a line to an ascending position and a descending position; a gear unit(31) to be fixed on the floor of the tier of the retractable seat and to support the rotation axis to be rotatable; and a driving motor(23) to rotate the rotation axis(21) through the gear unit(31).
