PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device, method and program for providing contents enabling a robot to collect contents at an HTTP to acquire contents from servers yet to be implemented with the HTTP, while allowing access control when the contents are acquired from the servers; and to provide a search system and method. SOLUTION: The collecting robot 9 sends a request for the acquisition of a contents list or contents to the content providing device 3 by means of the HTTP. The content providing device 3 transfers the request to a document management device 6 by means of a dedicated protocol. The document management device 6 sends the contents list or the contents to the content providing device 3 by means of the dedicated protocol and the content providing device 3 transfers the contents list or the contents to the collecting robot 9 by means of the HTTP. A registering module 12 creates an index based on the contents and registers it in a search engine 13. A management module 10 creates an ACL for the index and registers it in the search engine 13.
