PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing roll and a rotation transmitting mechanism for the fixing roll by which the raising time of the temperature on the fixing roll surface is shortened and the damage to the fixing roll is prevented compatibly. SOLUTION: In the rotating hollow fixing roll, a section which is perpendicular to a rotating axis on the fixing roll end part side is provided with an arc part along the diameter of the fixing roll and a non-arc part which is a different shape as the arc part are provided.
