PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection mechanism which is used for a spear, enables the sure projection movement of the spear even by a general person without needing the master of a special training technique and can shorten the shaft of the spear to enhance portability. SOLUTION: This projection mechanism in which a projection pipe shaft 3 is slid in a base pipe shaft 2 comprises the base pipe shaft 2 whose ends are a butt 10 and a projection shaft-inserting end 11, respectively, and in which a spring-guiding pipe 14 is disposed in a main chamber 2a divided with a divider 12, the projection pipe shaft 3 whose ends are a blade-attaching portion 15 and a projection spring receiver 3a, respectively, a start portion 4 in which a stop pin 17 has a stopping member connected to a connection wire 24 and is fixed in a stop pin hole 16, and which comprises a standing engaging plate 23, an operation lever 22, an operation support point 21 and the connection wire 24, a projection spring 5 received in the main chamber 2a and guided in the spring guiding pipe 14, a cushioning spring 6 received in the sub-chamber 2b of the base pipe shaft, and a stopping portion 7 comprising a stopping wire 37, a cushioning wire 38 and an intermediate adjusting member 39.
