PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marine search system which can make the explore of a seek area sure. SOLUTION: The search system consists of a computer 6 and a display screen 8, which is composed of a speed setting region 21 in which a ship speed is input, an angular velocity setting region 22 in which an angular velocity of an optical axis of a laser radar 1 is input, a search range setting region 28 for setting a search range, and a search determination display area 23 for indicating whether search is possible or impossible. The computer 6 decides by computing whether search is possible or impossible, based on the ship speed, the angular velocity and the search range, and displays whether the search is possible or impossible on the region 28. Search impossibility means that there exists a blind region where a search signal of the laser radar does not reach. Screen is made man-machine interface and fixed parameters and variables are input interactively. The result of computation is displayed on man-machine interface, and search which requires emergency is performed smoothly. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
