PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for an automobile which eliminates inconvenience that an intake unit projects in the lateral direction due to a connection means in connecting with a storage case such as a blower or the like, and miniaturizes its size to simplify the mounting work for them. SOLUTION: An air filter mounting part arranging an air filter is provided on the intake unit selectively introducing outdoor air and indoor air. Section area of an air flow guide from the air filter mounting part to an introduced air outflow port is gradually reduced. The connection means of the intake case forming the air flow guide and the storage case of the blower or the like introducing the air from the intake unit and feeding the air to the downstream heat exchanger side, is provided within the sectional shape of the air filter.
