<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive capable of attaining miniaturization and cost reduction by simplifying a circuit, without the need for additionally providing a power supply for a power factor control circuit. <P>SOLUTION: This motor drive comprises a rectifying circuit (a diode bridge DB2, a smoothing capacitor C1) for converting an AC voltage from an AC power supply 1 into DC voltage and an inverter circuit 4 which converts the DC voltage from the rectifying circuit into an AC voltage; a switching circuit (a diode bridge DB1, a transistor Tr) for forming a closed circuit at ON via the AC power supply 1 and an inductance element L; a drive circuit 2 for driving the switching circuit; and a power factor control circuit, having a capacitor C4 as a power supply for the drive circuit 2. The capacitor C4 for a power factor control circuit is charged via a diode D1, by a DC voltage from a DC power supply E1 for a drive circuit 3 of the inverter circuit 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
