PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved sensor system providing simultaneous actuation of near transducers. SOLUTION: The sensor system includes a plurality of transducer groups each having a plurality of transducers. The transducers of each group are placed close to a sample material for effective operation therewith. In each transducer group, each transducer is actuated by applying different phase-shifted variants of a local oscillator signal. The sensor system also selectively uses the phase-shifted variants of the local oscillator signal for each transducer group during output processing to inhibit cross-transducer interference occurring between the simultaneously actuated transducers.
