摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a uniform velocity gantry apparatus capable of being easily manufactured, having no need for readjustment of magnetic strength of magnets or beam guidance elements, high precision of the irradiation position of particle beams at all rotating position angles of the gantry apparatus, and a relatively light weight, and to provide a designing method for the gantry apparatus. SOLUTION: The gantry apparatus capable of rotating around a horizontal longitudinal axis 16 has a beam optical system with magnets 36, 38 and 40, and the magnets deflect the particle beams 12 ejected from a particle beam accelerator and has a primary structure 18 of rotational symmetry and a secondary structure 30 which is supported by the primary structure 18 for holding magnets, and the secondary structure has rigidity for being substantially equal to the amount of displacement in the vertical direction by the magnet tare (at a constant speed) in all rotating position angles of the gantry apparatus.
