PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting apparatus 11 with which entrapment of gas 30 into a die cast product is prevented and quality of the die cast product is improved. SOLUTION: A gate slidable member 27 is disposed at the upper part of the interval between a sleeve 21 and a runner 20. Molten metal 22 is poured into the sleeve 21 and the molten metal 22 in the sleeve 21 is pushed out against the runner 20 with a plunger chip 24. This pushed-out molten metal 22, is pushed out into a cavity 19 through the runner 20 from the lower side of the gate slidable member 27, that is, from the lower position than the height of the surface 22a of the molten metal 22 in the sleeve 21. The gas 30 in the sleeve 21 is restrained to flow into the cavity 19 by staying in the sleeve 21 with the gate slidable member 27. The entrapment of the gas 30 into the die cast product is prevented and the quality of the die cast product is improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
