PURPOSE: A method for embodying a cross filter effect in a digital image device is provided to generate the cross filter effect without attaching a cross filter by grasping the position of an optical source using RGB or YUV image data and applying a cross-type pattern to a coordinate value of the optical source. CONSTITUTION: An image captured in an image device is converted into image data, and the image data are stored in a buffer. A portion which is greater than a pixel value of a peripheral RGB or a portion in which a Y value of YUV is relatively high is detected among the image data stored in the buffer. A cross-type pattern is applied to the portion which is greater than the pixel value of the peripheral RGB or the portion in which the Y value of YUV is relatively high so that light shines.
