<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an examination method by which a Th1/Th2 balance can accurately and simply be examined, to provide a new gene capable of being used for the examination method, to provide the product of the gene, to provide a nucleic acid useful for the examination method and used for measurements, to provide an antibody useful for the measurement, and to provide a recombinant DNA useful for the production of the antibody, to provide a transformant, and to provide a production method. <P>SOLUTION: It has been found that a molecule selectively functioning on Th1 cells or Th2 cells, namely, a molecule significantly more expressed or produced in either of Th1 and Th2 than in the other and capable of being used as a marker for the Th1 or Th2.
