PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound which can effectively inhibit the activity of interleukin-1βconverting enzyme (ICE) in vivo in order to be used as a medicinal agent for preventing or treating interleukin-1 mediated acute and chronic diseases, apoptosis-mediated diseases, inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, bone destructive diseases, proliferative diseases, infectious diseases, degenerative and necrotic diseases. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formulaαand formula (a) or (b) (wherein (n) is 0,1 or 2; R11is formula (a) or (b); m is 1 or 2; R12and R13are each independently selected from R7, C(O)-R7and C(O)-N(H)-R7, or they form in common a 4- to 8-membered saturated cyclic group).
