PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger which has a pop up mechanism for removing a battery pack from itself and whose pop up mechanism also serves for protection of the connector of itself. SOLUTION: The charger 3 has a holder 9, a battery mount 5, a power connector 6, a pop up piece 7, and a slide cover 10. For the pop up piece 7 which is provided near the power connector 6 of the battery mount 5 so as to pop up the battery pack 1 when removing the battery pack 1, its face 2 is positioned in the direction of the side of the holder 9 rather than the face 1 of the power connector 6, and the side of the face 2 of the pop up piece 7 is in a higher position.
