PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to improve the structure of the air conditioner to obtain a desired room temperature in a short time and to prevent the super-cooling, thereby saving the power. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner includes first and second refrigerant circulating cycles(100,200) respectively formed of compressors(10,11), condensers(20,21), expansion valves(30,31) and evaporators(40,41), and a microcomputer(60) electrically connected to the first and second refrigerant circulating cycles. The components forming the first one have larger capacities than those of the second one. According to a room temperature sensed by a temperature sensor(50), the microcomputer compares the sensed temperature with a desired temperature one and drives either one of the first and second refrigerant circulating cycles or both according to the temperature difference.
