PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking structure for a tumble sheet of automobile arranged so that the locking position is provided above a seat rotation shaft and thereby making the tumble sheet capable of securing the strength while lessening the moment load around the lock without bringing about bulkiness in structural terms. SOLUTION: The locking structure for the tumble sheet of automobile is arranged so that a lock groove 12 in recessed form is provided at the top positioned over the pivoting position of the forefront of a cushion frame side face part 9 and that a lock plate 10 furnished at the rear side edge with a pin sliding path 13 directed downward from the lock groove 12 is mounted in the condition overlapped on a hinge bracket 2. The side face forefront is furnished with a circular arc groove 18 extending in the separating and contacting directions to/from the pivoting position and a lock pin 15 movable along the circular arc groove and energized by a spring in the approaching direction to the pivoting position, and the lock pin is engaged with the lock groove 12 upon sliding along the pin sliding path 13 in the energized condition by spring in association with the rising rotation of the cushion part.
