<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new laccase having characteristics for modifying antistatic, water absorptivity, etc., of fibers containing a polyester, especially an aromatic polyester and to provide a method for producing the new laccase. <P>SOLUTION: The new laccase and the method for producing the new laccase are provided. The new laccase is a protein derived from a microorganism and having a unique sequence or a protein containing an amino acid sequence in which one or a plurality of amino acids are deleted, substituted or added and has characteristics for modifying the fibers containing the polyester. Furthermore, the method for producing the new laccase is provided. A method for modifying the fibers containing the polyester comprises remarkably reducing the antistatic properties of the fibers containing the polyester and/or remarkably increasing the water absorptivity thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
