PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping device which makes appropriate driving force for rotating a clamp arm and moving it to a clamp position, and driving force for generating final clamping force. SOLUTION: The clamping device clamps a work W between clamp members 12 by a clamp arm 11 rotated/driven on a body 10. An arm turning driving source for turning the clamp arm is constituted by an electric motor 22 and a clamping force generation driving source for generating clamping force after turning the clamp arm is constituted by an electro-magnet 42. This electro-magnet is disposed such that a clamp force generation arm 43 for transmitting the clamping force to a clamp force transmission lever 56 provided on a rotation shaft 13 of the clamp arm is attracted/driven to the clamping force transmission position.
