<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle imaging apparatus without impairing an image quality and deteriorating sensitivity and an S/N ratio while rendering a frame rate variable. <P>SOLUTION: The on-vehicle imaging apparatus 1 has two-dimensional imaging means (a pixel unit 3, a vertical scanning unit 4, a horizontal scanning unit 5, and an output unit 7) having a great number of pixels 2 arranged in a two-dimensional matrix form, and a pixel information addition means (a pixel switch control unit 8) for combining a plurality of the pixels 2 and summing and extracting their pixel information items.
