PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preceding handrail for a prefabricated scaffolding enabling one worker to support/fix the preceding handrail to a ledge above and to easily and rapidly and positively mount the leading handrail when fixing it to a ledger board regarding the preceding handrail provided in the uppermost stage of the prefabricated scaffolding. SOLUTION: This preceding handrail comprises a handrail frame 11 comprising a lateral pair of handrail vertical members 11a and a handrail horizontal member 11b connecting upper ends of the handrail vertical members 11a; and a pair of fixing members 12 provided at lower ends of the handrail vertical members 11a of the handrail frame 11. The preceding handrail is mounted to a ledger board 3 of the prefabricated scaffolding 1 by the fixing members 12, and a hand hold member is provided downward from the center of the handrail frame 11 so that the lower end projects downward from the ledger board 3.
