PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide information suitable for a retrieval condition to a user. SOLUTION: A server 10 is equipped with: a standard pattern table 13 for defining correspondence of the retrieval condition to recommended information in designating the retrieval condition; an information table 12 having various kinds of information, the retrieval conditions of the information, recommended information related to the information, and identification information of the standard pattern corresponding to the recommended information; and a control part 14 having a standard pattern analysis function 14a for determining the standard pattern based on the designated retrieval condition from a client 30<SB>k</SB>, and a retrieval function 14<SB>c</SB>for retrieving, from the information table, information corresponding to the designated retrieval condition from the client 30<SB>k</SB>and the identification information of the standard pattern determined by the analysis function 14a.
