PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery preventing a contact short circuit between a metal foil constituting an outer packaging body and a lead terminal. SOLUTION: The secondary battery 1 has a battery element 3 sealed inside the outer packaging body 2 made of a laminated film. The packaging body 2 is formed by outer edge parts of the packaging body parts 2a, 2b being sealed together so that a positive electrode lead terminal 11 and a negative electrode lead terminal 12 are partly protruded outside. The packaging body parts 2a, 2b are formed from a resin film with a heat sealing resin layer to be heat sealed with the positive lead terminal 11 and the negative lead terminal 12 and a protective resin layer having resistance properties against a short circuit defect in heat sealing with the positive electrode lead terminal 11 and the negative electrode lead terminal 12 laminated in that order, and a laminated film with a metal foil layer and an outer resin layer having electric insulation properties laminated in that order. By forming the protective resin layer inside the laminated film, a short circuiting of the metal foil layer with the positive lead terminal 11 and the negative lead terminal can be restrained.
